travel 2007 : yunnan, szechuan-china Golden Splendour

A temple located at the top of a hill in DeQin Area (also know as Shangrila). This was taken from the below of the hill where our inn is. A temple captured in its golden splendout with its golden roof & trimmings.

I have been to China a few times myself. I have not had an opportunity to sight-see while visiting. But I think there's always the next time...

 

This is a very nice display of old architecture. China today is being taken over by new development and these cultural icons are being swallowed up in the metropolitan areas and surrounded by mortar and brick. Progress, capitolism... vs. culture.
