This image is one of a series on the colors and textures of the Salt

Ponds of South San Francisco Bay. I am currently working on a couple

of exhibits involving this series and would appreciate your comments.

Is this one to keep or boot? Why?

This image drew me right in with its textures and barren bush. However, I keep finding my eyes drifting left, to the amazing textures you have on that side, and I'm just not sure that the right side can hold any weight against the left of the image, leaving it a bit unbalanced to me. I would love to see this same image, but with the bush towards the right edge of the photo and more of the dry mud in the photo. The bush itself isn't as interesting because there's very little texture or shading, especially when contrasted with the textures and shadows you have in the rest of the image.

The texture in this picture is wonderful. The only thing I might try is bringing out the color in the back to contrast the bush a little more. Other than that great work!

It is a strong image. But, not a great image. I love the textures of the branches and the strong circular element at the trunk's base. But, the left/right balance is a little questionable and the colours are not as strong or lively as your other images. I also find the cropped shadow a little . . . um . . . disappointing.

But, I think it should stay. It, along with a few other images in your folder (such as the electrical tower, trains, self-portrait etc...) offer a nice contrast to the more abstract nature of the majority. I think you should either keep all of these or none.
