Donna Stavis 0 Posted August 9, 2008 The blackness, swirl of her dress, bending tree, and light unify her with nature, creating an illusion of a storm with their cleaving to one another for protection almost as if one. It looks vulnerable, poignant, melodramatic, and nuanced. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted August 9, 2008 A lyrical image,Pnina. Excellent composition and amazing control of exposure and light.Unless one is poet, painter and photographer, one will not be able to capture such an exquisite image. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted August 9, 2008 This remains undisputable your domain, Pnina. Great b/w photography once again. Compliments, El Link to comment
maria conversano 0 Posted August 9, 2008 Wonderful! I full agree with El ! Great image! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 9, 2008 I like the idea of being consciously caught up in love. There is a moment when falling in love that a person is quite aware of doing so and allows themselves to fall. The woman reminds me a little of Marilyn Monroe. Voluptuous in a white dress. This has the charm and knowing innocence of an old film. I love how they are firmly planted while the tree bends. laurent_jaussi 0 Posted August 9, 2008 the movement of the dress is so nice.....gret capture that feels "without gravity"... Link to comment
doug_gentry 0 Posted August 9, 2008 Pnina, I so enjoy seeing the world of theater unfold through your vision and style. Thank you sincerely for sharing with us! Regards, Doug Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted August 9, 2008 Fascinating image, Pnina. It seems minimalist with lots of negative space, but still full of pattern, light and lines. The tree is a superb backdrop and the grass(?) is a good base. I particularly like the faceless poses of the subjects. Link to comment
nachosaezdeugarte 0 Posted August 9, 2008 Harmonic composition. The dance of the tree. Very beautiful. Regards Link to comment
Anabela Sequeira 0 Posted August 10, 2008 Beautiful image conveying strong emotions.Very well done! Link to comment
jbidarra 0 Posted August 10, 2008 Very good image. Again it brings "classic" to my mind without meaning old, it's also poetic but "dark". Love in a storm comes also to my mind. I like the contrast between her white dress an the dark background. Beautiful. Regards. Link to comment
armindo_lopes 1 Posted August 10, 2008 The very dark BG enhances this beautiful image. Good you kept detail on the whites. DOF and tones are really good. The legs bring motion into the photo. Kind of image that works well both in B&W and colour. All the best, my dear. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 10, 2008 Thanks Ahmet Tolo, I appreciate and understand your impressions. Donna, well verbalized you impressions, thanks for that. Amal, thanks for the lyrical and your always well chosen wards. El and Maria, thanks both of you. Yes I love that domain that connects life and stage. Jeff, I like the old film association, and Marylin Monro... the classic of movies.I like as well your evaluation about falling in love.( professional experience as well...;-)) Doug,I'm glad you like it, be my guest;-)) Roger, no face was an attempt to create a general feeling of relations, looking back to the Adam/Eve myth. Jose, thanks as well ! Mary and Anabel, sensual and emotional, thanks for your impressions. Joaquim, nice evaluation, I think that man/woman relation in general are classic .;-)) Armindo, my friend, I thought that B/W will be more expressive in this scene.thanks for your nice comment. sky blue 0 Posted August 10, 2008 Indeed quite the separation from "YinYang" but while innocence departed, thankfully love remained and with it, the conditions of the garden often return if but for a short time. Probably, as a result, we will not be privileaged to witness this temporary "Edenic" state in the remainder of the ballet but fortunately we witness it as individuals with those we love. This must have been an enjoyable play to watch. Pnina, how large is the theatre where you collect your works of art? I am curious how the audience responds. I've always imagined them as quiet as a library. I will have to attend a ballet someday so that I will know the experience. ~Sky Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 11, 2008 Hamed, thanks for your comment. Sky, ;-)) Innocence was changed by awareness, but what is good that love still stays with human being, This scenes of the dance is not at all about the garden of Eden, it was another subject all together, I interpret some of them in my own way, and connected it to the ' Forbidden apple story".... about your question, I have my place at the very end of the hall which not big ,and anable me to stand and move according to my photographic needs ,without disturbing the others. it has music with the dance , so it is not so quiet like in a library...... Try to see some dance performance, it is wonderful if it is well done, will give you another experience. Link to comment
