daved1 1 Posted August 8, 2008 Highlights look a bit 'blown' in this small view but, I love the tonal range, composition and presentation. Very nice. Link to comment
mikeoday 0 Posted August 13, 2008 Thanks Christoph and Dave for your kind comments. The highlights are indeed a little blown. I used my rather inexpensive and old flatbed scanner to scan the negative and to date I have been unable to coax it into giving me a decent dynamic range. Regards Mike ps. I've just purchased a new Canoscan 8800F so hopefully I will be able to reprocess to retain more of the highlights. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted September 3, 2008 This one has beautiful BW tones and composition. Except :-) the wood in the foreground but not much you can do about that. Maybe I am wrong but I think not. Link to comment

garydad 0 Posted May 25, 2009 Lovely composition Mike. Your choice of shutter speed was perfect and the deep, hard contrast communicates reverence for the subject. Attractive frame too. Congratulations on an outstanding image Mike and thanks for rating one of my photos! Link to comment
