I think your portfolio is cracking, but to be honest I think you have better shots of this subject (and many others that are far stronger). I can't put my finger on why - maybe it's because I've seen so many shots of this subject, some of which are absolutely out of this world.

Rob, I am not offended by your comments. The reasons I post pictures is to use constructive advice and reactions from my peers for self improvement. Were folks to only say nice things, this would be an empty charade. Having said that, coming to this picture - the slot canyon I visited is critically dependent on time of day for the lighting effect. As luck would have it I had about an hour and some there, and the sunlight died out due to clouds. While somewhat disappointing initially as the pillars of light disappeared, a totally new range of hues emerged from magenta to purple to even some blues. The direct and reflected light was doing amazing things. So here in this pic, I've tried to present some of that effect. No matter how many pics I see (mine and others), the real place is just amazing! Regards to all.
