Some beautiful reflected light from high clouds shortly after sunrise complimented the colorful clay cliffs at Gay Head. The sky has been cropped out slightly. Getting wet was part of the game for this image.

Morning light enhanced the already colorful cliffs on Martha's Vinyard.

Comments, suggestions welcome. A portion of the sky has already

been cropped, but maybe a touch more? Thanks

I think the sky is just right. This is an image that I quite like. It is a somewhat unique and different point-of-view for a coastal scenic, i.e., looking up the beach, versus more out to sea. I am assuming you were in your Tevas and had vigorously pushed the tripod down into the sand. Perfect shutter speed too for the surf. Some really nice lighting conditions. This is an incredibly appealing photograph. Cheers! Chris

The sky seems in nice harmony with the sea here, I love the colour of the water as well. Great capture, thanks for sharing.

Mark- I see what you mean about the sky. The light clouds were a bit of a challenge, but it should be an easy fix.

Chris- I did get wet during these shots - getting low angle and longer shutter speeds=getting wet. Luckily the equipment didn't! Glad you liked it.

I decided to rework the entire image. The upper left sky was a little too electric/cyan for my taste, and think the overall exposure and luminosity of the image has improved with the rework. The foreground looked a little too muddy, instead of the brillience I remembered. I think the sky detail improved with the process, though maybe not as dark as you (Mark) were hoping. The sky was pretty bright as I remember, as the sun was from that direction. Thanks for alll of the ideas. Hopefully the new version will be updated shortly- it seems to take a while when a new image is updated inthe Edit Image Info field.

Harry, the adjustments you have made are spot on. I think my version was too dark in the sky. This is a very eye catching image from top to bottom.

Thanks Mark - Though to tell regarding detail in sky areas sometimes due to the small size available here. Your idea was a good one, and led me to a better image in general with special attention to holding detail in the sky. As always, your ideas are much appreciated, in depth, and very helpful. Do you do any teaching?

Take it easy, Harry
