dougityb 0 Posted August 7, 2008 Forgive me for sexist title. Any comments otherwise? Thank you in advance. Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted August 7, 2008 This one gives me the feeling of an impromptu snapshot, possibly by a friend in a non-threatening setting such a lunch break. Admittedly the girl is a little too pretty for such a casual looking photo, but the black kitten does give us a reason for her happy/friendly smile. Interesting how you can make her look so different in these shots. I would have thought they were different models if not for a moment's hesitation over the blond hair. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted August 8, 2008 I think that this is really a wonderful smile. So, ok, it's a less "glamourous" photo, but it shows a more natural beauty and it speaks to me. One regret - the same as you have, knowing you ? :-) would be that stripe of a fence at the top, which clearly was better left out of the frame, or should at least be straighter... I'd definately rotate the shot, crop the top and crop accordingly on the right to keep the 2x3 format ratio. Then I saw a red cast on the skin and hair here -at least on my monitor. After measuring the eyes' white, white balance appeared mathematically ok, but I still corrected the skin color as well as the grass color. Here's the result. Quite nice, I'd say, and so far, although perhaps more simple than the other shots, it might be my favorite - once touched-up. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted August 8, 2008 PS : I hope you enjoyed the fact that I woke up middle of this hot French night for yet another insomnia ? Well, that's the sort of things I do when I can't sleep, so please pardon me if looking at the outcome, you feel I must have been tired. Fact is : I was ! :-) Cheers. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted August 8, 2008 :-) Good for me you couldn't sleep! Nice work, and yes, the fence was not a welcome addition. I will shamelessly appropriate your crop. Thanks Marc. Mike, she deserves 100% of the credit for her different "looks." I just stood by and waited. Link to comment
