(If anyone has a great way of reducing a picture like this in CS3 and

keeping it's sharpness I would LOVE to know) :) I had the way PN

Wonderful shot. We know they're walking on the beach, but it looks like they're walking on water. You've handled the depth of field really well and very effectively. Their shirts are perfect backed by the sand and he is adorable and the whole idea works so well.

Don't know why you're having such trouble with the PN thing. Most of the time, the reduced versions that PN posts are bad and show little digital anomalies, but when you click on the photo and view it full size, at least mine all look like what they do in photoshop, maybe a little (very little) darker sometimes, so I will simply lighten some levels on occasion.

Have you tried the Save for Web function under the File menu at the top of Photoshop. I sometimes use that and it saves it better for web viewing. I also make sure to convert whatever profile I'm using to "Working Space" in the version I post. I find that then it stays truer on the web to what it looks like in Photoshop.

Regarding this photo, there does seem to be something strange going on. I actually prefer it at the smaller view as it appears on its page. When I click on it to "show larger" I suddenly get some of the negative effects of what I consider to be oversharpening. At the larger size, I see the outlines of all the people and clothing very distinctly, almost as if they've been cut out. At the smaller size, the edges are much smoother and more integrated into the picture itself.

I'd be curious if you and others notice that as well.

This is a very good shot Micki. Or I guess I should include the kind I love to take and view. I appreciate this kind of shot. To me it is as personal as a facial close up. The little boy looking back is an added bonus! Great moment caught.

Micki, it seems like someone told me to do smartsharpen after you reduce the image size to upload and it helps. With settings set on unsharp mask 151%

Radious 4.05 threshold 15 levels. Am just passing along a pointer that was given to me.

I really love this photo. The little boy looking back is priceless. This is a great composition. I can't really see anything that would improve it.

I love this photo -- the wee one is so adorable!

A child's curiosity and wonderment - peeking back to get a look!

I leave this page with a big smile on my face. Maybe I'll turn back and take another peek myself! Hehehe
