But that would have taken some time.

I agree I think I will actually print this one up for my portfolio with a black thin frame around it.

This is one of the best pictures I have seen this week! The expression is wonderful and the contrast and white background are perfect. Well done and compliments (a fat compliment as we say in Holland). regards

Beautiful shot Micki!

I love the white b/g and all that gorgeous hair blowing in the wind.

Nice light in her eyes.

Great shot.

We had a wedding shoot with a family on the beach and I have so many pictures to go through but you know me I have to play with the first pictures I see to play with. :)

I'm going to ask her mom if I can just get her in for a teen photo shoot.

Excellent stark portrait, Micki. Particularly effective because of your high contrast treatment. Though it is quite different, this for some reason reminds me of Kelvin Bernard's portraits ( on PN, and a great compliment). I particularly like her eyes and the handling of her framing hair.

I also have it cropped closer and love it that way and almost posted it that way.

Wasn't sure what to do.

I'm glad you made me feel like this was the right crop :)

I like a lot that treatment of strong contrast, good details, rich enough without a BG.

Interesting gaze, I love her hair, it looks like a windy weather without having any other signs of it.... good High K in B/W.

Micki, this is really very lovely. She has such a touching, endearing expression and the high-key skin and background with strong blacks works very nicely here. The tussled hair caught in the wind and the distant expression really give expression to the idea of the "promise of youth" and optimism for the future.

Very, very nice work! I bet her parents are thrilled with it.

Love this. I have tried some of these shots with natural light, but you can only change the levels so much or it doesn't work. Great job.
