eosman 0 Posted August 7, 2008 I have digitalis in my garden and a Canon DSLR also but I don't get photos like yours! Mind sharing your lighting secret? Congratulations on a great photo. Chris Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted August 7, 2008 Hi Chris, despite some of the above comments, this is not advanced lighting. The plant stands infront of green shrubs which are shaded by a fence, so that is a fairly dark background, and the digitalis was backlit by a low sun. I simply exposed for the bright light on the pale flower which threw the background into black. The only adjustment in PSP was to lighten the midtones to bring out the translucence of the blooms and accentuate the stamens inside. When shooting these flowers I try to get the light on the fine hairs to add detail against the background. Thanks for your interest. Link to comment

davidroossien 0 Posted August 25, 2008 You know how I love these.... My favorite part of this one are the little abstractions in the upper right corner. The change in size from bottom to top sets them apart in a dramatic way. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted August 27, 2008 David, I'm quite enchanted by them too. They have so many characteristics that offer up versatility in shooting. And they're freebies in my garden! What more could one ask for? Thanks for dropping in. Link to comment
