Storm Light over Imp Ledge

harrylichtman

Brief storm light over the Presidential Range in NH's White Mountains. Winds were whipping and there was a chill in the air, but my wife was kind enough to jump inthe shot to add some scale and added interest to the image. The sky was burn in a bit for the highlights.

Crepuscular Rays illuminated the skies over NH's Presidential Range.

Comments welcome. A f/u to a B&W version posted a while back.

Very good composition plus the sunrays make it a perfect image.

Interesting foreground. Maybe the trees on bottom left distract the view a bit and put the eyes away from the main subject. What about cropping them ?

I don't know that I'd do a thing with but maybe contact REI and see if they want to buy it for their upcoming catalog. LOL! Excellent capture of the God-beams. Nice work, Harry; and it looks like you are thoroughly enjoying your summer tramping about NH. Cheers! Chris

Horst - The crop is a good idea. I'll give it a go. Hopefully the image has reflected the crop. It does make the image a bit stronger, I think.

Chris - The summer has been OK, but unfortunately I blew out 2 disks in my low back in late May and have been sidelined from many of my excursions. (Shaving, no less!) Stick with backpacking-it is much safer! Had a grand trip planned to your fine state of CA later this month that will have to be done at a later day.

I have a bad-back too; and they're no fun, not at all (trials of being tall). Shaving, huh? Hey, you be sure to let Geistweite and I know when you're planning to come out here. You and your significant other would be more than welcome to flop with with us. My wife and I have plenty of room. I'd bet that Mark and I could both steer you around to some of our favorite haunts. Get better, Amigo; and I'll catch you on the trail! Cheers! Chris

Chris - Thanks for the invite. We may take you up on it. I may visit my cousin who lives in Del Mar/San Diego in Nov. for a brief visit. Is that near you guys?

Del Mar is about 100 miles south of me. I'd recommend that you visit them and then come on up here for a few days. We'd hook up with Mark G. and head up along the eastern Sierra or out into the desert, depending upon weather and your interests. Keep me in the loop, Amigo. Cheers! Chris
