Very cool shot and I like the composition a lot. It moves the eye upward to the top pic of Marilyn. The lighting is quite beautiful.

The juxtaposition of the older man looking at the icon of youth and sensual icon/myth, is very touching. His memory is probably taking him back to the passing years, while Marilyn will always stay young in the collective memory and photo....

Yap, you're right Pnina, your description matches exactly with my interpretation of the moment. Thank you a lot.

I have known the guy for centuries, he sells stuff from a little tray on the port, amazing that you should have caught him like this ... a touching photo, indeed underlining as well the clash of generations. You have caught the fixation of his gaze even though we see him from behind, remarkable.

Is interesting to see that the pin up photos that the man is looking at are of Marilyn and not of a Greek actress....somebody that he could easily meet in the street...this underline the Greek tendency to create myths and legends about the unattainable...the unreachable...The reflection in his spectacle lens that occupies a small part of the whole is also something that reinforces the title as a secondary support...well seen and captured.

This is just perfect. Very expressive! I like the story of it and the light.

Pnina put so perfectly into words, what this photo immediately conveyed to me as well  --  A very powerful capture, with beautiful delicate lighting... This is really an excellent photo, Carlos! (and one of my favorites ;-)

A moment trapped in time for both the man and Marilyn. Excellent!
