Interesting results for an un-manipulated image? My intent was to shoot wide open and find interesting bokeh formations by pointing the camera into the light but with different floral stuff in the background. Only one rain drop is in focus. Slight selective contrast was applied. Too exotic? Would be interested in your thoughts even if you consider it not your genre of photography. Thanks

I must confess, that though I like the fantasia version, I much prefer this version. The reflection ,and refraction of light off of the drops of water, in conjuction with the play of shallow DOF give me something tangible to connect with. I also find the background very pleasing to the eye.

An excellent natural abstract here. 7/7 rating. Personally, I'd hang THIS version up, but that's just me.

I see you're putting your new D300 through its paces. How do you like it so far?

Regards,

Beautiful abstraction. I really like the shapes created in the out of focus area. Wonderful vibrant colors and lighting. All the best.

Good to hear from you. Thanks for your thoughts on this image. I think the "fantasia" and "reality" versions will appeal to different people. Re D300: I waited through many Nikon versions since the introduction of the D70 and finally got the D300. I close my eyes now to recent announcements (D700, etc). It is really excellent and i am very happy with it. On a couple of times I press the shutter and a number of shots are fired off. Just wondering if i acidentally hit the function button - anyways it is not a big thing as I continue to study the manual. Any investment now will be in 'glass'. All the best!

I think you can tell that this image is a very personal one... one that you like and enjoyed taking. I can see a completely different perspective shown through this photo... and thats my favorite thing to see in photos. I would also hang this one up.

If I were to include color images among all the black and white ones that cover my walls, this would be hanging there. It is a beautiful work of art for both nature and abstract. I have much to learn about photography.
