A weed that grew itself in the atrium and rewarded me with a unique

colorful flower. Decided to use normal lens instead of macro/tele.

Took it at night, Nikkor 50mm @F10, ISO 100, center weighted. Used a

slave SB600 with Gery Fong diffuser. Taken RAW and adjusted in CS3.

Resized in Picasa. What do you think?

Ifti - this is beautiful. It is visually striking and a bold original composition. AT first glance it almost looks computer generated, and then it hits you with a wow! Very well done.

Good to hear from you, Ifti....thanks for your rating on my 'Slate Blue' photo. This is a very beautiful capture of a most unusual flower (or as you say, weed). All I can say is that I wish I had weeds this pretty in my garden. Bravo!

I love the movement in this image, the composition and the sweetness of the stamens around the stem. Beautiful Iftikhar!

You've no new posts since my last visit so I had to go digging through your portfolio.  Glad I did.  Your combination of black background and  strong but diffused light here works to produce a stunning graphic image.  That there is beauty even in weeds is well displayed here.  I don't think you could have framed it any better and the colours are gorgeous.  Wishing you good fortune in the new year.  Looking forward to more interaction.  See you on the other side.   Best, LM.
