ritachi 0 Posted July 30, 2008 Ercolano is an old city near the Vesuvius’s descents. When Vesuvius erupted on 24 August 79 AD it engulfed the two flourishing Roman towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum, as well as the many rich villas in the area. Since the mid 18th century these have been progressively uncovered and made accessible to the public. The excavations were inordinate and still today uncompleted. Thanks for viewing. Link to comment

jkilgo 0 Posted August 3, 2008 This is very nice...the darkness adds a touch of mystery...I really like the columns and the ornate tile-work on the building's facade. Nicely captured. Link to comment
