leo burkey 0 Posted July 30, 2008 First of all thanks to all of you who pointed out my obvious error yesterday. This is a blended image (one exposed for the sky and the another for the foreground) of an image that I previously posted as an HDR ( the HDR is in this same folder on my site). The HDR seems to have a "harder" look to me and not as natural. It may be do to the fact that I haven't really done enough HDRs or that I'm not very good at it. I would really appreciate your opinions. Link to comment
tomasz_wojciechowski 0 Posted July 30, 2008 I didn't see it yesterday but what I see now is astounding. beautiful HDR, very carefully executed postwork. perfect compostition - with clear foreground and lovely sky. bravo! Link to comment
wogears 186 Posted July 30, 2008 Beautiful landscape, the purple flowers are the perfect touch. Sky looks a bit unnatural, but very dramatic. Link to comment
adrian_klein 0 Posted July 30, 2008 I remember the other one and this one looks much better! I am not a big fan of HDR. You have to use it very sparingly to compliment hand blending IMO. You have hit the nail on the head.... the HDR images that people use the HDR to blend look more unnatural. It's great for art if people like that but it's not usually my preference and gets away from it looking like a real nice photo. I still hand blend my images as needed. Nice work Leo! Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted July 30, 2008 This is a hand blended image! I must not have been very clear in my explanation. This was blended from two exposures; one for the sky and one for the foreground. The HDR image can be found in the same folder on my site but I will attach it here. Link to comment

J. Perez 0 Posted July 31, 2008 Leo, this is terrific. I also like the HDR version. I do believe that with the appropriate HDR tweaks it might be better than this (better than perfect? hmmm...) Cheers, J Link to comment
berenos 0 Posted July 31, 2008 Very beautiful and well thought-of-shot. Everything seems to be put on the right place for a reason, e.g. the stones in the foreground, the small purple flowers that compliment the almost violet part of the sky on the left. Link to comment
