Christal1664882414 0 Posted July 30, 2008 This is a wheel from an operational grain mill in Mansfield, Indiana. Roller Mill. I love the geometric shapes of this and the way the sun was peeking in from both sides. Link to comment
raybrizzi 0 Posted July 31, 2008 I'd rather see the entire wheel. Lighting is interesting, and really shows off the wheel texture. Link to comment
ifti 1 Posted August 1, 2008 Chrystal I like how nicely you have the color of old stain polished wood with its shine and texture and at the same time cold iron wheel. I agree with previous C&C that a full wheel will be a better composition. Regards ifti Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted August 1, 2008 Thanks for your input on this. You may be right. But when I was composing this, I didn't like the round circle of the wheel in the middle of the frame......it looked too ordinary. Maybe I was a little over-zealous in moving it to the side. It's nice to get feedback though.....I appreciate your time. Link to comment
johnroberts 0 Posted August 6, 2008 Hi Crystal, many thanks for the positive comments you have made on my images. As far as your image is concerned, I can understand the above comments about the whole wheel but I also like the solid feeling of the timber and metal within the frame. To me, it evokes an ecclesiastical feel because of the polished timber and the lighting and I do like the way you have decided upon selecting close up detail as opposed to shooting a wider view. A well developed and considered image. Regards, John Link to comment
rbanfield 0 Posted August 18, 2008 OK! I like and I also like that you didn't try to put the whole wheel in the shot. Great capture Christal!...Ray Link to comment
