Sometimes things in the street just 'line up' and the photographer's eye

just 'sees things' that others might pass by, as here, with three parallel

profiles of humans and a fourth of a mannequin. Your ratings and

critiques are invited and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very

critically, please submit a helpful and constructive commentary; please

share your superior photographic knowledge to help improve my

photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

I like how the 70% on the glass plays into the picture. It adds an element of interest as well as a barrier separating the real from the artificial. The light itself separates the real from the artificial by bathing the mannequin in light and leaving the people in silhouette. I agree about the moment discovered with the profiles all facing the same way... it gives them all something in common. Good eye John.

I really hadn't given much thought to the interplay between the subjects with regard to the glass as a barrier/non-barrier, but as you point out it fills the frame, and you rightly point out its prominence as a separator in the photo and set me to thinking about its worth as a photograph/graphic element.

That's the worth of a good critique; it sets the photographer sometimes to thinking about the depth of what may seem (to me at least) a photograph that is primarily about composition, but may have more complex elements, as here.

Thanks very much for helping add to my understanding of my own photograph.

I like how the light is captured in this picture. With the mannequin what you see is what you get and in that sense is more "real". With people...well, that is a different story. Nice catch and great synchronization in here.

I would say very well seen and well captured,...regards.

P.S. sorry about my mistaken deletion of my comment on your previous photo this Laptop plays havoc sometimes.

This is one of those 'I just saw something I gotta memorialize' shots.

I was walking with a friend during an evening of rock concerts -- just out for a stroll while others were watching rock concerts and other things and these folks were perched in front of a clothing store.

I saw this in the crowd, said to my companion, 'I just saw something I gotta get', waited for a few moments for things to fall into synchronization again, took the photo, and walked on.

It took a little post processing and a crop to get it this way, but not a 'manipulation' in PN's definition.

Sometimes you just 'see' things, and by now, I think the part of my brain that 'sees' interesting things is enlarging from practice, just as those of a pianist relating to hand coordination and musical sounds gets larger.

But who knows. It may just be another way of saying 'Practice makes . . . . for more practice.'

Because in 'street' you never get perfect.

Best to you, Adan.

Thanks for the fine compliment. As to the deletion, mistakes happen -- no problem, and you can always replace any deleted comment at any time.

(I note that this photo has a number of low raters -- perhaps they just didn't 'get' it -- or worse, they 'got it' but hadn't a clue why it was more than the worst photo they could rate . . . . ' Oh well, that's the vagaries of the rating system. The rate by you and various others who did 'see' this photo for what it is is very clear to me, and I am guided by those rates and especially the comments.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment.
