rhondazahn 0 Posted July 29, 2008 A feeling of calm and peace washed over me as I looked at your beautiful photo. I can feel the stillness of the air, crisp and clean after a soft rain. The sunset through the steeple and the glow of the stained glass from within gives the feeling that this church was kissed by the light. Beautiful. -Rhonda Link to comment

tgood 0 Posted July 29, 2008 The light shining through the steeple looks like it is the same light radiating through the stained glass. Amazing exposure... challenging I'm sure. Did you use any HDR? The white cross illuminated in the steeple is a nice touch. Great work Linda. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted July 29, 2008 Thank you for your thoughts. I didn't use HDR software although I think what I do when playing around and touching up an image is similar to the effect you get with it. I create layers, adjust the opacities, levels, curves, contrast etc. I experiment with the different layer opacities and combine them when I am satisfied that it I have the best result. jeffl7 0 Posted July 29, 2008 What glorious timing. Like people, it's hard to fathom the beauty of stained glass until you see the light shine through them. I see this as a statement of faith. Link to comment
jhammond 0 Posted July 29, 2008 Other than the hill in the far background to the right of the church being lightened up too much I think it's a great image. Nice work. Link to comment

Jeff, your comment reminds me of a favorite quote by Elizabeth Kublar_Ross “People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.” Thank you so much for your thoughts and for reminding me of this quote, I had forgotten it. All the best. Jeff, thanks, I appreciate your thoughts. Andrea, it's good to hear from you, thanks. Ricardo, thank you, glad to hear you like it. . Cynthia Jean, thank you!
