new stuff souls of sunflower

Just looked up one day and wow ... there they were.

I like it! The way the eye is directed across the photo is great. My only concern is that the light sourcing seems off. The light in the sky is clearly coming from the upper left, yet the sunflowers are illuminated from a different position, and that throws things off. If someone how the light sourcing could be made true, it would be even better.

Hi, Brian. Yeah, I agree, the lighting isn't the same. The sunflowers were backlit by a strobe in my studio (with some added strobe for fill from the side to give a little texture to the front of the petals). But your point is well taken. I'm not normally one for composites like this but it was fun to piece together. As I was doing it I had the exact same feeling about the lighting, but what the hell, it was a fun little image to create! Thanks for looking! David

This one is perfectly made I don't know how, they usually don't "look" down! Looks perfect! The back lighting adds a lot to it! It's all over a great photo!

Intriguing idea; nicely rendered.

Backlight for the sunflowers is perfect here as it seems they have absorbed all the light from that terrific sky.
