You have a very observant eye and skills to collect these circles of various sizes into one lovely framed view. As you mentioned it in caption, "re-edited", could you kindly attach the intitial version here, something I did myself with my very latest uploads too? It would be very educative to study whtever you saw neccessary to improve, this because I din't see the first version. Thanks.

thank you for your visit. I apologize for my oversight, but believe me, I have everything to learn from others more than "educate" others. So, here is the link to the photo as it appears in another folder of my portfolio:

I wasn't satisfied with the first shot (although it had received very good comments and ratings) because of its "darkness" and blurring. Maybe I was sad at that time, or, more probably, my eyes didn't see very well for an incipient cataract and related retina problems (for this I have undergone two eye surgeries in january and april and now I see clearly after all the Calvary). I thank you very much for your attention and send you a big CIAO, Giuseppe

Sorry for bothering you as I didn't consider that the previous version still were online. You certainly made a remarkable job in such degree that I dare to ask where you have learned this "tricks"? A good book or online guide perhaps? Care to tell me? Since my glory days with 4x5" sheet film negatives in wet darkroom in early 80s I have done just few B&W conversions, so you understand I'm here to learn, Dear Master.

I have been photographing since I was five or six, when my father gave me his camera and asked if I could take a picture of my parents. Since I was eleven I have played in dark rooms and when I was seventeen I was invited for the very first time at an exhibition. At age 35 I decided to go digital and started using PS and all the stuff there. To be honest I have read few technical books, but one that I strongly recommend is the "Langford", last edition (LANGFORD'S ADVANCED PHOTOGRAPHY By Efthimia Bilissi - Michael Langford, Paperback, 432 pages, publication date: DEC-2007 ISBN-13: 978-0-240-52038-4 / ISBN-10: 0-240-52038-6

Imprint: FOCAL PRESS ). What I have really learned in photography is due to the intense study of our colleagues (living and dead) works and to my studies in communication and linguistics (there I have learned the importance of the story and how to tell it). PS can do any trick, but the eye behind the viewfinder is your and yours only, and so is the mind that controls your eye. I hope I didn't bore you, this is the first time I speak so much about myself ... A big hug, ciao, Giuseppe

As much as I appreciate your personal story and the book tips you gave me I should have pointed out being interested especially in B&W work on the level you are operating so succesfully, and that points to work with PhotoShop. As long I have this 6 years old PC with limitations in resources I keep my own output on rather basic level. I know I have a long journey ahead one day... Thanks anyway!

Giuseppe, this is a very interesting angle taken here. the difference of in/out seen through the round window, creates a special look to the whole. The outside elements are creating a " face" form of old culture vs. everyday life of the inside . Of the stable constructions vs, the transitory of the inside on one hand ,and a continuation of human life on the other. I like the strong outside light illuminating softly the inside round forms... Good composition , well observed and B/W.

Giuseppe, now and then I come back to your portfolio and i always end up opening this image. It is a somewhat humble image, in the sense that it does not contain any outstanding, dominating element. But it works so well, especially (for me) because of the "trick" of the glass distorting one of the members of this "collection of circles". Without it, it would have been good. Like this, it becomes unique. Really well done! L.

A surreal scene. The plates are like cut out from the window. The round shapes are multiplied all around. Very well seen and presented.  I like the BW tones especially.
