A guide dog and his partner. His wife wanted some portraits of her boys.

you feel that this image deserves a 3 or less...please leave me a few

Very powerful portrait...you can feel the love between the man and his buddy....nicely captured.

Thank you Mary and Jeff. It was actually no easy feat to capture the energy between them. It was very private. I think the camera caught it before I was aware.

There are so many animal and human emotions at play in this shot, it really strikes a chord with me. I really can't "critique" it from any technical standpoint, but if the intent of a photograph is to evoke feelings and a response from the viewer, I'll say that you have accomplished that very very well with this shot.

Outstanding work.

absolutely agree with Jim Adams' comment, as well as the others. This photograph has 'feeling' to spare, connects emotionally with the viewer, but never sentimentally. But I do wonder why you cropped the image, why you didn't give it more space right of frame... Square cropping would make the scene 'fuller', more complete. C

Thank you for your comment. I am glad that you were touched by this image. It's always nice to have a fellow respected photog recognize one of my own. To answer your question about the cropping, uh...I don't know. I may have cropped a little from the top to put in 5x7 format, but this is how I framed it...maybe I was just looking at the dogs expression and trying to put his eye towards the middle of the frame..who knows? But, thank you for the suggestion...always a good reminder to watch my unused space.

I return to this photograph over and over again...it's like a magnet to me.

If you ever offer a print of this, let me know.
