Matt Laur 2,201 Posted July 26, 2008 Nearly-ready corn at - very tall at the end of a heavy July growing season - basks in a rural Maryland sunset. Thanks for visiting. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted July 31, 2008 Wonderful feeling and color...I grew up in northwestern Ohio and this scene reminds me of that...I can almost smell the corn! Regards, Dick Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted August 1, 2008 somehow this composition just doesn't feel right. I think because it's a bit "heavy"at the bottom part. For the rest your colours and semi-silhouette looks perfect. Link to comment
Matt Laur 2,201 Posted August 1, 2008 Thanks, Ton. I, too, worried about the visual weight of all of that shadowed area at the bottom... but I couldn't reconcile that with wanting to preserve the larger leaves that were still catching the softer, bluer light. The maddening thing about scenes like this is that they last for about... 15 seconds! I think I'll be re-visiting this spot, which seems to have clockwork sunsets like this over all sorts of great agrarian foregrounds. Thanks for taking the time to comment on it - it's a concept in progress, to be sure. Link to comment
