Combal Lake and Pyramides Calcaires

Playing for a while with my new toy, the amazing B+W 110 filter, a

1000x ND filter capable of 10 stops of light reduction! And this, without

the slightest loss in terms of image quality!!!!!!

 

I took this picture yesterday afternoon in full daylight, but with the use of

that filter I was able to set an exposure time of 20" @f16.

The location is the Val Veny, a small wild valley at the feet of the Monte

Bianco massif in Valle d'Aosta, Italy.

The 20" exposure in broad daylight made this water flow image outstanding from others - well done. I'm going to get myself one of those filters!

Thank you all for commenting on this, I'm very pleased you like it. Yes, the Val Veny is a wonderful place, but all the valleys at the feet of the MOnte Bianco range are simply a paradise. I will be there often during the next weeks and will hopefully come back with many more good pictures of these fantastic places.

Very dramatic well-composed landscape.

This is a beautiful image, though I would have preferred it with 1 or 2 inches cropped off the bottom as my eye is drawn there rather than to the fantastic clear colours at the top of the picture.

Ansel Adams would be jealous.
