squiver 0 Posted July 24, 2008 These extraordinary trees are called baobabs, and they can be found on the island of Madagascar. To show the remarkable shape of the trees, I decided to shoot them as a silhouette against the fiery sky, just after sunset. I had to stand in the swamp to get into the right position in order to get as much separation of the trees as possible and to show a little of their reflection on the water. Your comments are appreciated as always. Link to comment
sawicki 0 Posted July 24, 2008 Great shot - they look really majestic. Great light and colours - and above all the darkness with the reflection. Link to comment
rbergerud 0 Posted July 24, 2008 Reminds me of a Art Wolfe image I recently saw in a Outdoor Photographer magazine. Great shot Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted July 25, 2008 Sweet! Excellent composition and exposure. The layering of colors in the sky adds a lot of drama too. Have to say that you did a great job with the framing and spacing of the bao-babs too; I'll bet that took some finagling in the swamp. Superb work! Cheers! Chris Link to comment

mark minard photographs 0 Posted July 26, 2008 Lovely shot Marsel. If I had taken this I would have automatically (habit) have cropped at the base of the trees. I think your inclusion of the lighter foreground has added a new dimension.Cheers Mark Link to comment
