Tree and glacier

The colors of the glacier is just wonderful. I also like the definition in the glacier as well. The clarity from tree to glacier is outstanding also.

 

I do have a few other things that are IMHO.

 

I think the tree takes away from the picture because it is so close to center with it also sitting on the not very please land that takes up the bottow left. A better cropping of this would have helped take away from the unpleasing land bottom left or possibly a different position (if it was possible).

 

I also think the black sky makes the picture look to phony and is very unflattering. You have this glow on the glacier from some sort of lighting. (Moon, sun) a brighter sky or cloudier sky could have been plugged into the picture. Your portfolio has some wonderful sky pictures. Anyone of those could have been put in place of the sky that was originally there instead of making it black.

Puufff ... !!! que barbaro, hombre !!!. Una maravilla. Coincido con el ultimo punto del comentario anterior, aunque no estoy muy convencido que la parte superior de la foto sea el cielo ... para mi es una parte mas oscura de la montana.

Un solitario maltratado por los duros viento patagonicos, el color del hielo maravilloso, el cielo negro le imprime dramatismo, una foto sensacional, enhorabuena.

La silua del árbol sin hojas delante del hielo azul del Perito Moreno se ve realmente magnífica y dramática, muy atractiva. El cielo negro?

Gracias por vuestros comentarios, el fondo tal como dice Ricardo Maximo es la parte oscura de la montanya, no es el cielo. La foto es tal cual, unicamente he ajustado niveles y ligeramente reencuadrada. Hay algunas cosas que no termino de entender de la traducción que me hace Google de los comentarios de Toni: efectivamente el arbol podria estar un poco mas a la izquierda por aquello de la regla de los tercios pero si corto mas de la parte inferior eliminaria el agua del lago. El dia que hacia era completamente gris, cubierto, como en las otras fotografias anteriores del mismo glaciar y no soy muy partidario de cambiar o superponer cielos de otras tomas. Gracias otra vez por vuestros comentarios y criticas, siempre seran bienvenidos.

Creo que la composicion esta bastante equilibrada, y por supuesto no creo que haya que seguir las reglas a rajatabla, el impacto visual es excelente consiguiendo que el arbol sea el nexo de union entre la tierra y el glaciar. Enhorabuena. Vicente.

Que belleza de foto. El contraste de tonos y colores es impresionante, y sobre todo, los detalles del glacial son espectaculares.

No te imaginas el alivio que me dio al leer tu comentario cuando dices que no eres partidario de copiar cielos de una foto y ponerlos en otra, .............ahhhhggrrrrrrrr!

Con todo respeto a aquello que acostumbran a hacer eso....eso no es fotografia pura y simple, sino mas bien "composicion digital", lo cual puede tener sus meritos tecnicos, artisticos, etc., pero en este caso estamos hablando de fotografia.

Yo no tocaria nada Jordi,claro que hay muchas opciones entorno a la composicion,pero aplicar la regla de los tercios o qualquier otra no nos tiene que hacer mejorar la imagen obligatoriamente,en definitiva la fotografia es arte y cada uno lo interpreta a su manera.Un saludo.

PD en mi opinion el cielo esta algo alejado de la realidad...pero cada uno expresa la realiad a su manera, NO?

Bona nit, Jordi (por no aburrir, que sigo por aquí):

Coño, esta foto es muy buena, estar paseando por ahí y encontrarse de repente esta posibilidad de encuadre de un objeto tan dramáticamente solitario con ese fondo desolador; guauuuu !. No le pongo ninguna pega, cuando una foto es maravillosa de oportunidad y composición y además tiene un contraste blanco-negro tan maravilloso, no hay más que decir, que hay mucho perfeccionista por ahí que siempre las encuadrarían mejor !!!!!!!! Me gustan mucho además este tipo de fotos con pocos tonos de color (apenas el azul en el glaciar y los pocos ocres en la tierra y el grisillo azulado del agua) pero que le aportan una calidad gráfica tremenda. En el "No Words" Forum (Sin palabras), hice uno que se titulaba "Un arbol - one tree", creo que era algo así, y colgamos un montón de fotos de árboles solitarios, échale un vistazo si te gustan estos motivos. Gracias por tu imagen, un 7/7 de los buenos.

Coño, this image is very good, to be walking in this place and, soon, you find the opportunity to shot this dramatically lonely object with this desolating background is something that only happens to good photographers. I can not give any more improvements to the image, when a work is well done, there is no more to say; furthermore, the contrast (not common) black background - white ice in the glacier is marvellous; there are a lot of perfeccionist around there, but do not pay attention. I also like a lot these photos with not many color tones - just some blue in the glacier, some dark ywllow in the island and the grey-blue of water, but the graphic quality is very very high. Really stunning image. The color relationship between the dark blue and the light blue of the ice is incredible. Very nicely done.
