oshun 0 Posted April 17, 2009 Thank you all for the feedback , this fight actually took place in the Everglades National park on 12/24/05 . I was actually 25 miles from the park doing my last minute Chirstmas shopping , when a fellow photographer called me from the park and told me about this battle that had been going on for more than 6 hours . I got to park and proceeded to shoot for more than 2 hours . The fight ended when the Alligator took the snake under the water and disappeared . Two days later I found the alligator close to the same spot with the dead snake in his mouth . Link to comment
Life Photo-Documentaries 0 Posted April 18, 2009 José A nice photograph but a sad consequence of the irresponsible snake keeping of foreign species! But, any way , interesting photographs to be used by Wildlife and Park Service! JC Link to comment
oshun 0 Posted April 18, 2009 While this battle was going on there were two park rangers , one of them with a 12 gauge shotgun . One of them told me that they had orders to " Destroy " the Python in the event that the alligator failed . She also told me that these snakes have been breeding in the Everglades since the 1980's after irresponsible exotic pet owners dumped them there . Best Regards Jose Link to comment
mirkal 1 Posted April 19, 2009 This is Jose what I call to be at right place in right time. Dramatic subject indeed and I admire your courage to approach them, both snakes and crocodiles are not exactly animals I would like to have close to me. Very well done! Link to comment
owenimages 0 Posted March 12, 2013 I am always photographing alligators and have a few photos up of them so I did a search on the site to see what else was here and found this. WOW! I am sooooo happy the alligator won this battle. Had it been a smaller gator I think the result would have been different unfortunately. Great job. Link to comment
