LindaM 2 Posted July 17, 2008 David, i didn't figure you to be the red-light district type...is that the true color, or was this some fine PS trick. either way, very cool image! Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted July 17, 2008 this reminds of a film scene in a very dark movie. It gives a great atmosphere and that's why I like it. Link to comment

bosshogg 4 Posted July 18, 2008 Hey, I have nothing against red light districts. The saturations have been boosted and in some case lowered selectively, but otherwise it is pretty "straight." Neon lighting offers endless possibilities for images. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted July 18, 2008 Thank you all very much for taking a look and leaving a comment. Ton, it's doubly nice to hear from you, as you have not been around much lately. I'm also pleased that you would like such a strongly colored image. Link to comment

Jack McRitchie 150 Posted July 19, 2008 That's a lovely hard red vertical on the left and together with the horizontal slats revealing the reflected building beyond seems almost like a film strip or child's flip book where the pages are flipped quickly and the image gives the illusion of animation. It didn't interest me so much in the thumbnail but I responded instinctively to the full size image; it seems to correspond to an internal archetype, in some way tied up with the Japanese art of ukiyo-e which has spawned the modern manga, the stories are for shit (the manga not the ukiyo-e) but the art work is dynamic and the artists are past masters at representing action and depth in a 2-D form.. I'm sure by now you're thoroughly confused by this comment; I'm not quite sure what I want to say, either, so I just let it roll out and see what it sounds like in the light of day. It's sort of an internal dialogue I have with myself and this picture has served to dislodge another chunk. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted July 20, 2008 Well, I'll hope and prey (yes, I said "prey. :( ) that it does not end up lodged in some vital organ doing great bodily harm. Really, thanks for the fascinating information. You have caused me to know something I surely never would have without you. Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted July 22, 2008 This has a voyeuristic feel, made complete by the red. I think of the high-tech thrillers from the 80's. One building spying on another. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted July 22, 2008 Interesting thought. In this day and age, I guess it is quite likely that one building is spying on another, what with cameras everywhere. I'd bet quite a sum that a camera recorded me taking this image. Heaven forbid that something should happen to the building. Surely I'd be a suspect first degree. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 22, 2008 Interesting work here, David. Like the reflections and lines. I think this would make a pretty interesting B&W image as well. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted July 23, 2008 You might be right. It's hard for me to think of it as a black and white because of the dominant red color. But thinking outside the box is always good, and I think that is a bit outside of the box (mine anyway). Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted August 6, 2008 I like this very much, David. The red color is so glowing it almost looks unreal. Great horizontal pattern and reflection, as though we were the characters of a sci-fi movie looking on some future city outside through a venitian store. Link to comment
