As a kid, I visited Canada, and I remember the plaintive call of the loons echoing across those deep Manitoba lakes. Having spent many summers in the South, my memory of summer is always of a hazy film that bleached out the color from the landscape. This reminds me of how deep and saturated the color was up north..

I have been living in Western Canada for close to 30 years now. I grew up in smoggy, hazy, dull, grey Toronto. I remember seeing pictures of the west and thinking that colours couldn't really be like that. I was stunned the first time I visited western Canada, and said this is where I want to be. I have never got over the feeling of awe. I am always reminding my sons, who both grew up here, about my colour deprived childhood and that they should appreciate how gorgeous is is here. Like most people born here they take it forgranted.

You nicely captured this beautiful bird Linda.

Clarity and nice details against a vantage b/g.

The sea’s surface texture is written perfectly.
