felixphoto 0 Posted July 14, 2008 This is one of the picture I have taken recently at the Kaona monastery's church, dedicated to the St. Archangel Michael, handheld with high ISO and natural lighting. The orthodox Kaona monastery dates back to the XIV century and has some of the most beautiful fresco paintings I've ever seen. This is a view on the wooden iconostasis with the altar apse's Holy Mother composition. The richness in colors and details of the ancient Byzantine fresco painting style, using the plant pigments for their coloring, makes each visitor absolutely delighted. Thank you for your constructive comments and critiques. Link to comment

RickDB 10 Posted July 14, 2008 Congratulations on a well taken photo - the dynamic range is remarkable and the colors beautifully rendered. Did you use a soft fill-in flash? The frescos remind me of something similar at the Kykkos Monastery in Cyprus. Cheers, RickDB Link to comment
