I saw this guy hiding in the reeds. I thought he looked like he was

posing next to those yellow flowers but I wanted to be sure to show the

lilly pads as well. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thank you for your time and comments.

in yhe other phot, lonely lylium i think, I loved the dof. here the same. the tendence now, i see, is to have the biggest dof possible, but I think that the defocused areas are very important for aevocativy language.so, you are going to become the queen of yhe dof. by the way, the aperture is something that we have to decide when we shot, in postprocessing is horrible. so, brava!

Hi Sonia...I think the composition and color...the moment you caught is fantastic! I know you shot this from a canoe but...it seems to me just a bit too blurry..the DOF wold have been fine but the Heron needs to be a little sharper...I do like it's placement in the frame very much...Oh well looks like you'll need to get back out in the canoe!

I use a plastic ammunition box for my camera when I take it out...most of the time I shoot with the ISO at 400 and f8 or 5.6 on sunny days this gives me fast shutter speeds...and of course the image stabilizer is on...A 100-400 L lens is usually on so I can get shots like this one...I think you have a good eye for these kind of images...good luck on your next canoe trip!! juan

I'm sorry I've been away from my computer and am just now trying to catch up. Thank you Andrea for your careful critique of this image. I appreciate your detailed comments. Thank you Juan for your helpful suggestions. I'm going to have to get better in a canoe as I'm planing a 10 day canoe trip in August. Nezif, Jose, and Maurizio, always good to hear from you. Thank you all for stopping by.
