jeffl7 0 Posted July 14, 2008 A very haunted capture. The sky crashes down on him and the city rises up to strangle him, and still he stands. He stands with a handicapped sign behind him and an arrow telling him to move, but he doesn't. Quite interesting. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 14, 2008 For me, it is all symbolic in its composition. The life in a concrete big cities, where the alienation is very present. The surrounding is "wrapping " the figure, the sign behind him has a contradiction , the arrow show him the direction but the handicapped sign is "holding" him back. the sky are heavy, the diagonal with a hint of construction, "clean" from any tree , nature signs, complete my feeling and is increasing the tension. good backlight and work Laurent. hikaru_i 0 Posted July 14, 2008 Perfect composition. Shape of the person. The plate with a wheelchair. Overcast clouds. Reflection of a building. Every thing has quite meaningful effect. Therefore I protest to easiness of the picture title. Even "untitled" is better. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted July 15, 2008 Excellent composition ,silhouette and very good contrast of tones,Laurent. I like the ominous clouds and mood of the image. Link to comment
acarodp 0 Posted July 15, 2008 It is a very strong image, but I wonder what it would be the effect if you had blackened entirely the sign... would this make the photo even more "minimal", the setting even more inhuman? I don't know, but I would try and see what comes out of it. Apart from this, what others said: the slender silhouette and its position, the clouds, the imposing geometry... very well caught, bravo! Jack McRitchie 150 Posted July 16, 2008 This whole series is well conceived and well executed. This one a little more graphic than the others but also nicely done. Link to comment
