Yes, is a real ritual. This was done in a the Mayan riviera, specifically Xcaret park. It was part of an exhibition of mayan religion, music and dressing. They were the real thing, no actors or fakes.

Very persuasive picture of the South American ancient cultures! Only on the breast pf the man needs a bit darkening and hue-saturation change to fit the rest!
