Red Cone Reflection

LenMarriott

Canon A540, 'P' mode, ISO 80, 1\1000 @f4.0, 13.7mm (82mm equiv). -1\3 exposure compensation to minimize possible highlight blowouts. Minor tweaking in PS. Best, LM.

Interesting composition especially beacause there is a "twilight zone" between reflections on the R and reality on the L. It is the zone where the water are spiling to the L. Bizarre is the blue line of Sky? on the BG before the trees which are reflected in part?.... so thats what I started with ,an ambiguity, " trompe- loeil" in French....I like the black line that leads the eye to the back, and the little red buoy that looks like an acrobat on a string....Good DOF, Well observed Len

Pnina, Thanks for your thoughts. Good photos are everywhere. The trick is to recognize & isolate them. This one would have been just another tourist shot if taken with a wide angle to include more of the surroundings. Always interesting to see what one returns with from an outing. Best, LM.

Juan Carlos, Thanks for your thoughts on this one. At the time of exposure I thought the small red area would act as a nice counterpoint to the predominance of blue and green. Being able to place it in the corner was a bonus. Best, LM.
