Great composition. I like how the red light plays with the rock on the right and the blurred waterlines in the foreground. YOu've also kept the sky natural looking.

The colors are great but something is not quite right. Looks to me like the rocks lead the eye out of the frame instead of leading it to something within the frame. Just my opinion, no hard feelings.

Gorgeous warm image. To my eye all elements, the prominent cloud, the rock outcropping, the receding wave, and the surf all come together and compliment each other very well. Thanks for sharing... Mike

Casi, casi perfecta, solo en las rocas parece que se fuerza un poco la edicion.

Saludos.

I hesitated between different ratings and finally decided that it is a very good landscape, very special (original) and pleases the eye!

Cracking shot Simon, Great lighting and good choice of shutter speed to create the fine spray over the rocks while still retaining the movement of the water in the foreground. Very crisp too. I'm curious though, would this image not be better suited to a 4x5 crop taking out the top 1/5 of the image, cropping just above the yellow small tiny clouds to the top left? Regardless, it's another excellent shot!

Hi John, thanks for the comment.

I can see exactly what you mean but that cloud is an integral part of the composition (everything leading towards the breaking wave, an arrow head symmetry!) as well as being the most gorgeous colour.

Consistently elegant landscape you always create, Simon. The 'copper-tone' makes it all the more dramatic!

Truly one of your better shots Simon (and that says a lot !). The golden light on the fg rocks and the water action in the midground really work some magic. Brilliant as always.

This is a gorgeous photo that really pops!

Many images pop, but then eventually fades in interest, but this one has so many qualities that it keeps me viewing for a long time.

I see you did a master job on the composition, having different layers of landscape, a most beautiful light that enhances the textures and a good shutter time leaving this both dramatic and serene at the same time.

I guess this was a rather challenging exposure in regard to the strong, direct light in the sky and sidelight falling on the bedrock.

Nevertheless, you made uncompromisingly well artwork here.
