A canal along Goose Creek (tributary to the Potomac) was built as abusiness venture in the early 19th century. It was a colossul failure.Much of the canal is still there as a testament to dreams and failure.

Thank you for looking.

Amy,

I love images of old ruins, and this one really captures the history of days gone by. Nice composition and colors. In fact, I have very similar images of sandstone waterway ruins in my gallery--same vintage.

Take care,

Stephen
