What I don't like in your work is the limited depth of field resulting in a blurry foreground that acts very distracting and unesthetic. Hand in hand goes a blurry background (also due to the limited depth of field), but this adds to the sense of space and works well for the composition. This is however a personal oppinion and I am a begginner myself, so I might very well be wrong. Congratulation for your good work Link to comment
le-plume 0 Posted August 28, 2008 Dear Paul, The limited DOF was a choice - admittedly a questionable one. Especially since there was plenty of light, which means that, even if this was taken with a rather slow film (100 ISO), I probably had to use the maximum speed of the camera. Which gives a rather frozen look to the surface of the water, by the way. The next picture in this folder, taken in the same area and on the same day, has a much deeper field: you might like it better. Thank you for your comments, in any case! Link to comment
