peter_daalder 0 Posted July 6, 2008 An area sheltered from the winter sunlight, maintained the frost throughout the day. Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted July 6, 2008 A very interesting composition. The movement from cold (foreground) to warm (midground) and back to cold (distant & sky) sets up a dynamic rhythm as well as fully exploring the obvious depth of the scene. The color palette is both a bit forbidding and very real. The detail and clarity throughout and especially on the hard frost is well executed. All told, a terrific shot with a cogent story of this harsh ground. Link to comment
celasun 0 Posted July 6, 2008 Not a technical comment: I felt a cold breeze licking my face looking at your photo. It made me more "awake", if that is the proper word. It reminded me once again the need to wake up early and go out to "live" more... Thanks for these.. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted July 10, 2008 Peter, this has a wonderful depth to it. I suspect that it is the different layers created by the quite different colours. Whatever it is, it works really well. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted July 13, 2008 Thanks for your views and comments, Patricia, Bulent and Jeff. This is one of those shots that came about by breaking through the barrier (literally). I had to climb a fence which tells hikers to keep out and stay away from this restricted area on the mountain. Obviously, it was worth the trespass... Link to comment
