I was not the most stable taking this shot from a canoe but I'm happy

with it. We managed to spend the whole day without tipping the boat,

thankfully. :) Thank you for your time and comments

Sonia, the image is lovely, but your story brought back some scary memories. We run a b&b and not long ago we had a guest, who took one of our canoes for a paddle. He saw a jellyfish and wanted to take a picture of it, he was resting the camera on his knees leaning out to get a good shot when the canoe flipped over. Here it is winter the water is cold and there are not many people about. This young man was so lucky as he yelled and yelled to no avail, hypothermia was already starting to effect him. He was about a mile out to sea. On the coast up from our place was a newly wed couple, he was diving for lobster why she waited in the boat. When he surfaced she said she thought she might have heard someone yell help. He had enough sense to take his boat out a little and turn the motor off. They than heard our guest went over and pulled him from the water and brought him back to us. He could not walk and it took sometime to get him back to normal. I guess you could say canoes and cameras are not a good combination. All the best......roger

Thank you very much Andrea and Aristidh. It's so nice to hear from you. Maurizio, you are very kind to miss me. Thank you so much for stopping by, it means a lot to me. Roger, Yikes! That is a really scary story. I'm not sure I would ever try canoeing alone but there were two times where it felt like we almost tipped. Not sure what I would do if I ruined my camera... Life just wouldn't be worth living.... :)

Composition: Perfect, Colors: Gorgeous. Sharpness: I think focus is a bit behind the white flower which is the main point of interest in this picture.

Thank you for your comments Apurva, Jayanti and Dale. Apurva, I think you are right about the focus. Perhaps I can sharpen the flower in postprocessing. Dale, yes, I have an IS lens and it's a life saver. I'll never go back...
