This is a black and white cropped and burned version to address issues

raised on a larger version posted a day ago. Better?

I love the soft feel to this photo and what a beautiful lady. The lamp shade coming out of her hair is a bit distracting though...might try cloning that out.

ugh! I hear what you're saying, but that's what I'm trying to avoid! On a scale of one to ten, with 10 being the worst, how much of a distraction is it?

Thanks Fredrich, I've been having trouble winning support for the background on this portrait, although I'm satisfied with the original capture as it was.

Nice shot. I was wondering what the background was myself before I read your comment. You might just want to eliminate all the shapes and make it an even gray/black. I'd also like to see the contrast of the subject's face bumped up a tad in curves - although I'm aware that sometimes the minimized image appears different on screen than the full resolution image, or a print of the full res image for that matter.

This one is for me the best of the 3 pix of her I saw. I suppose you could indeed darken the brighter parts of the background just a bit more at bottom right, but I wouldn't say that I have a real problem with the background as it is. AND... this face, pose, natural light, beautiful hair and great expression have quite a lot to make me like this picture. My favorite portraits of yours among the ones I saw recently.

As a side-note, I just went to your web site and would have a couple of suggestions... I'll send you a mail about this one of these days. Cheers.

Thanks Marc, I agree the background plays a strong role, but I don't want to eliminate it altogether. If I did, I would have set up seamless paper.

I'm looking forward to your website comments.

I forgot to mention that the tones are bit flat - all grey, no real white...
