robert reinlund 0 Posted May 11, 2002 wanted to give 10/10, but did not like what look like burning in at the top of the frame, seems to be a little bit to much. BUt the expressions are great, beautiful! Link to comment
brendon 0 Posted May 14, 2002 Wow. I've enjoyed your thoughtful composition of landscapes and still-lifes, and occasional portrait. But you have a great talent for the candid shot too. Nice light. Well exposed. Great capture of these energetic girls hamming it up! And...so you've crossed the digital divide. Do tell: How is it? What lens? More freedom without having to worry about the expense of film/developing/digitizing? Link to comment
steveho 0 Posted July 9, 2002 Nice tight framing works very well in this shot. Great expressions and exposure. Link to comment
helen_back 0 Posted September 28, 2002 I think this is an outstanding shot, and I've looked at it over and over again, trying to figure out why! Great expressions, great skin tones, great color, but there's something else at work that makes it so compelling. I've finally come to the conclusion that it is the position of the girl on the right, which gives the sense that she is closer to the viewer than most such shots. The way she is kinda crowding the camera's/viewer's "comfort zone" matches her joie de vive and enthusiasm for whoever is behind the lens. If I had taken a similar shot, all three girls would have been in the geometrical plane where girl on the left or the girl in the middle fall -- and it would have been just okay, even if I could have captured such great expressions. Great job! (although I agree the burning is a little overdone for my taste). Link to comment
roger_borgelid 0 Posted April 11, 2004 Out of many excellent photos, this i s my favourite one. The composition, the tones, but most of all the contact with the children. You managed the difficult art Robert Capa talked about, to get close!!! Not just physically, but also in all other senses. It feels like I´m there - and it just makes me so happy! Link to comment
