Memories of places.......

Image taken recently with 20mm lens and D300 of Mount Hesse Woolshed circa 1852. I duplicated this image in Photoshop CS 3 and rendered the reflected image to a pre - 1905 watercolour painting from a book of this shed as it was back then.

A mirror to the past! But it could also be a mirror to the future. Very very good idea and realization! The effect is so real! Congrats!

This is indeed a very clever idea and well executed.

I like it, because it made me look and then look again, and again.

The thing that gives it away is the tree and the shadows, I guess.

If I mentally rotate the bottom half by 180 degrees, the tree ends up on the left hand side of the building. The shadows are now also on the opposite side, so this view from some time ago, must have been horizontally flipped. The monochrome/toned look works well to enhance the idea behind this creation.

Thanks for capturing my attention and letting us share in your creativity.

A very cool concept, and excellent execution, Matthew! Definitely worth the few hours of work to create! I think having the reflection line dead center works very well. It gives an uneasy feeling to the shot, which adds to the mystery of what we're actually seeing here. Superb!

Definitely worth the effort. I would have left the ground out of the reflection so it wouldn't look like there's two horizons. Good idea though.
