Luis, we've all been in positions of hunger - for love, hope, stability, security, shelter, friendship and belonging, but seldom all at once. In the hierarchy of life, hunger for food is so basic yet we are often desensitized to those in need.

This is more than a wonderful image. In a surrounding of commerce, progress, and civilization where everyone should have some semblance of dignity, the placement of the woman renders her almost irrelevant and incidental while the dog appears pathetically submissive; a reminder of our inhumanity and inequity.
