John Peri 1,029 Posted June 30, 2008 Apart from the excellence of the pose and choice of surroundings, the colour is quite amazing. How have you narrowed down the depth of field to such an extent, a telephoto lens ? Love this shot, particularly the way in which the model fits in with her surroundings so cnofidently .. as if she belongs. Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 5 Posted June 30, 2008 Yes, the lens has a 70 mm focal length with a 1.5 form factor (effectively a 105 mm focal length) at f/2.8 aperture. Jim Link to comment
OutsideTheNorm 34 Posted July 1, 2008 This image, while the best in the set posted at this point, seems quite flat, dark and for lack of a better term, muddy. The highlight on her raised thigh seems well out of place with the rest of the light in the image and is thus distracting. I don't know how much room you had behind her (camera right) but it might have been worth stepping her away from the foliage to get some visual isolation. Your perspective on the image makes it look like you were standing shooting from about eye level, and this with the pose serves to make her legs look a little stubby in contrast to an extremely lean torso - I've found that shooting from a lower position can help to lengthen the legs to pleasing effect. A quick curves adjustment to increase the brightness (without pushing the highlight any further) and reds a little, then a push of the yellow saturation to make the foliage pop a bit and it becomes an image, that while still raw, is more pleasing to my eye at least.
