Roman Legionnaire Reenactment in the Jordanian Desert

I am generally cynical about reenactments but this one felt pretty

authentic based on what I have seen in museums and history books.

"The thought of joining the Legion's enough to make any man quail.

You spend your time scanning the heather and constantly thinking of tail.

You fight off the Picts and the Teutons, and you drink down your watery ale,

But a life far away from a woman is no life for anyone male."
