Are the elements framed too centrally?

I like the composition the way it is. You have wonderful detail in the shadows and even though you split the photo 50/50 I think having the windmill where its located balances the photo out. 6/6 anon...RAY

Are the elements framed too centrally?

I would say, yes.

What's more, every time I look at this one, I feel that I am being tantalized by just a snippet of, what might have been, a wonderful reflection in the foreground.

If I were to cut this image in three equal vertical sections. Only the middle section would hold my interest.
