pnital 36 Posted June 26, 2008 The last 3 scenes are connected to each other and terminate the story of life as a dance here Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted June 26, 2008 I would fancy this image as a release from bondage of life,Pnina. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 26, 2008 I'm not sure I understood your meaning... as for me it is holding those children, close to parents life, and to the general society. It hints as well of the difficulties. Thanks for all your impressions. Link to comment

paula grenside 0 Posted June 29, 2008 First, I love this series, too, Pnina, and this one is my favorite, Then, as said for other shots, I think that the choice of material for the stage floor is great ( for the water effect), and your shots enhance this aspect of fluidity. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 29, 2008 Thanks both of you. Albero for your feedback on this one Paula, it is not an easy series I think, and I appreciate that it passed to you with this one. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 29, 2008 I've been meaning to comment on this picture because I think it's a terrific shot. It works both symbolically and compositionally. The outstretched arms of the man facing us lift the right side of the picture with their expressive grace. To me they represent freedom (of movement, if nothing else). His smile further enhances the theme of the ecstatic moment The man on the left is like the weight of gravity, holding down the other's legs. He is a faceless force, limiting, controlling and keeping his neighbor from soaring off to the heavens. To me, this represents the repressive forces of society which weighs us down and keep us earthbound. In countrast to the right side of the frame which is light and airy, the left side is dark, condensed and counter-balances the composition. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 30, 2008 Thanks Armindo ! Jack, thanks for an interesting interpretation.I wrote it before that every photo after uploaded has it own life, and interpretation of viewers can be varied, especially in this series that being only a small part of the whole 45 minuts dance. In the whole the dancer on the R represent the child that lives in his own world, and the figure on the L is as you have felt him, holding him( "the wieght of gravity") close to himself and to earth...( like a general "father", and also hints of the difficulties). " To me, this represents the repressive forces of society which weighs us down and keep us earthbound. " Interesting thought, Jack ;-)) Link to comment
