why are you focusing on the rope and not the horse? would've been a nice shot the other way. the b+w does work here, tho. cheers, lori

I did do some shots where the horse was in focus but it didn't have as much affect as this one. Thanks for your comment though.

I wondered the same thing, but I like the difference in the subject. I would suggest to light your picture more. Point out the glow on the rope and your whites.

I like the fact that you have focused on the knotted rope - works well. Your re-worked image is even better with much more punch. Good photograph, and definitely works best in BW as it accentuates details in the rope and on the bark of the tree that would be lost in colour.
