jeffsoo 0 Posted June 25, 2008 Good arrangement and lighting of the peonies to create a feeling of lushness, abundance, and decay. The pearls are a nice touch. The open book is not looking as antique as perhaps it should, given the context. Excellent use of light and shadow, creating the feeling of a Flemish baroque still life. There is an opportunity to do something more interesting with the reflection on the vase. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 266 Posted June 25, 2008 I once had something with the same motif, but this one is better I think! Yes, I still have it on my portfolio, but don't bother to see it Bento, believe me on my word, ha! PDE Link to comment

bentes_world 0 Posted July 6, 2008 for being so very late to answer. Tank you to everyone for commenting. It pleases me very much. The studio is as usual my barn and it's been a while since i used it last time so it was fun to use 'the light' again. I should do that more often. And Ken ... thanks for remembering - so sweet of you. I know the day - 4th of July - is a special day by you in the States and because It's my BD the same day I have known that since I was a little girl.... and one of my greatest wishes is to be in US on that day to see how you celebrate. aepelbacher 0 Posted July 6, 2008 Beautiful! Painting with light again, Bente? I love your still life shots! Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted July 6, 2008 I was not exactly painting with light this time. I rather think I let the ambient light from the dirty window in the barn paint for me. Thank you Lou Ann for visiting and I hope you are doing well. Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted June 25, 2011 Very beautiful light and composition! Lush romantic flowers and books just always seem to go together, don't they? Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
