How is this under 'documentary,' I would have though it would be under 'event.' In any event very beautiful colors and excellent bg. I just read an article in magazine on how to do this, soooo did you use photoshop magic. Technical info??? max.

thank you very much for finding this under 'documentary'... True, I should have placed it under 'events' - my fault ( I have not even thought about it)! The technicals: No photoshop modifications - because I don't have PS. The only adjustment is the contrast using 'Picasa'. I used Tripod, remote controller set to long exposure, camera mode to bulb, Lens (17-55mm f/2.8 ) to MF and infinity, ISo 100, f16, 3sec for the image shown. It all depends how long you keep the remote button down and how intense the display is. Too long - it washes out, too short - too dark. I also achieved good results with f11. This was my first serious attempt to fireworks and I am quite happy with the result. However, I will attach in future the specs :) Thanks again, Monte, always a pleasure to see you visit. Big hug, El

El, I like the result, the BG is very unusual, with the city lights vs. the gay firework. Nice composition, well done.
